March 11 - 14 : Winter 2011 Collections at ModaLisboa Fashion Week

Portuguese fashion will be on display at ModaLisboa Fashion Week, and Winter 2011 collections will be presented beginning Thursday through Sunday evening. Events take place in the heart of Lisbon, the largest city and capital of Portugal. Most of the shows are scheduled at the Páteo da Galé on Terreiro do Paço, while some others are at MUDE Museu do Design e da Moda. Everything will be within walking distance, and that sounds like a lot of fun. 

Based upon past appearances and this year's schedule of events, here are some of the designers we've personally got our eye on: Ana Salazar, Anabela Baldaque, Fatima Lopes, Filipe Faisca, Jose Antonio Tenente, Katty Xiomara, Lara Torres, Luis Buchinho, Miguel Vieira, Nuno Baltazar, Ricardo Preto, and Storytailors. 

Chloe : Autumn Winter 2010-2011 Collection

The Chloe Autumn/Winter 2010-2011 collection premiered in Paris on Tuesday, and the video and lookbook  can be viewed online. The upper half of the collection is primarily menswear inspired, but Chloe creative director Hannah MacGibbon added a tasteful and refined feminine touch by layering soft fabrics and textures. The bottom half of the collection was a medley of designs and lengths, and we personally loved the Herringbone tweed trouser. The color palette was monochromatic camels and beiges, but the use of black and grey broke up the monotony. Our favorite looks are 3, 18, 25, 31, 33. Which are your favorites? Edward Steichen : "In High Fashion, the Condé Nast Years 1923 - 1937"

The Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale is showcasing photographer Edward Steichen, and the "In High Fashion, The Conde Nast Years 1923 - 1937" exhibit will be on display until April 11. A fine art photography master, Steichen was chief photographer for Vanity Fair and Vogue and had the opportunity to capture all of the high profile couturiers, actresses, and fashions of his time. Shoppers who are unable to attend can visit the Conde Nast website to buy the 288 page hardcover book, and photography lovers can browse through the selection of over 350 individual Steichen photo prints available for purchase. 

Jayson Brunsdon : New Autumn/Winter Transeasonal 2010

Jayson Brunsdon is hosting an open invitation shopping event at the Singapore boutique this coming Wednesday March 10 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. There will be sweets, coffee, and a 20% discount will be applied to the new Autumn/Winter Transeasonal 2010 collection.
